They have gone directly to Nexteer with the issue and she discovered after we had talked yesterday that indeed there were trucks coming off the assembly with defective racks. In fact the dealers that stock these she indicated they are putting a bulletin to have the racks thrown out at the dealership and supply location which is Penske. She indicated to me that the supplier is sending a new rack immediately and will be at Jack Dimmer for repair on my truck tomorrow. She also asked if I could share this link as she wants to reach out to anyone else having the problem. I am ONLY sharing with you what she has told me. So far she has lived up to everything she has promised. All I can say is she has connections because she oversees the Plant Dealer Panel and I was able to get to the Plant Level versus the standard customer complaint center which gets routed over to the Customer Service Area Manager which gets graded on whether there are issues like this. Obviously the Customer Service Area Manager doesnt want these kinds of problems because they get graded on it and it effects their pay. Again only sharing information that was shared with me. All of her information goes directly to the Board of Directors which includes Bill Ford. Good Luck!
Is there an email for Linda Pizano at Ford in addition to her voice mail? I left a message also but was hoping to send off a follow up email to her so there is something in writing..
Thanks

Default My 2012 with the steering issue that Fard claims doesn't exist.

After at least four trips to the Ford dealer and two calls to Ms Arledge at Ford with no results, (in fact Ms Lori Arledge told me that it was the first complaint she has heard on this matter) subsequenty I filed a complaint with the National Highway Safety Administration. They have informed me that my complaint i the first that they have had on the 2012 F150. I have read a lot of complaints on this forum, I find it hard to believe that no one else has taken this action. I hope all the complaints on the forum a not just copy cat issues. I have seen only one or two individuals that have done some research on the matter. The one I found some hope in is by contacting the lady named Linda at Ford. I have been unable to find any information on her. I someone has more information on her please advise. Has Ford fixed anyones F150?

Just took mine to the dealer so tech could ride along. Temperature right around 92 and it was going crazy. He acknowledged the problem and I'm taking it in on Monday so they can look at it. He also is going to look at the 55 shudder. Parts for that are on backorder, but they know all about it and didn't question me when I said my truck has the issue.

I'll post up next week any useful information.

Default 2012 Ford F-150

Go to www.mycarstats.com and register yourself with your f150 2012.
Just checking it now and NOT one complaint about this problem for the 2012's. THe 2011's have grown to 18 complaints. THis site is very informative and you can register you complaints there officailly to the DOT.
Come on guys........ do it!

Now I seem to be one of the fortunate ones with my eco 2012 Lariat that does not have this problem. I haven't crawled under to get the specs off the rack as my knee(s) are awaiting a surgeon's opinion this Tuesday. Hard to get up and down still.

This is a very serious problem and the more publicity it gets, the more attention it will receive.

tech who rode with me seems to think it's the epas quickly firing left and/or right in order to correct itself to the straight position. i disagree, and after i let him grab the wheel and feel it, he sort of moved away from that theory and agreed it's a metallic knocking sound/feel.

Just giving everyone an update...

I finally got the chance to bring my truck in again (this will be my third rack).

Day 1- dropped truck off
Day 2- tech drove vehicle and found problem, waited for ford hotline to tell them how to fix or replace
Day 3- hotline confirmed replacement of rack is needed and road force balance tires. Dealer ordered rack, awaiting to see if they rack is going to make it today or if I need to pick up my truck on Monday evening.

That's all for now.

Hey everyone. I too am having the same problems with the steering gear. I thought it was my ball joint or something at first until I started reading more about the situation. oh, and my truck has 4700 miles on it. I purchased it brand new in april and have experienced the knocking basically ever since.. I live about a half an hour from dearborn. Monday I will be stopping by my dealer to have them take a look at it. Over the phone the service manager did say something like, "you can't believe everything you read online." Boy, I really hope they help me out. If they can't, I'll be taking it up with the dearborn plant. I am very disappointed with this purchase so far. Fix the problem ford!!
