Default Steering Wheel complaint

Just a curious question guys -

After 5 years my steering wheel is wearing through to the foam.

On the outside edge towards the window the whole side where the sun hits it is shot, the top is wore down 1/8", and I actually have finger grooves worn in it.

Did I get a lemon, or are these steering wheels junk ?

I'd say you got a good one. Mine was trashed by 3 years old...

Yeah with that many miles of your hands grabbing it constantly, I'd say you just wore it out.

But in my 40 years of driving, I have never seen a car with a steering wheel worn out like this one.

And if you look at the angle of the shade/sun, the sun has literally eaten away to wheel on the window side - the interior side is much better.

I guess it's time to find one off a wrecked F150, or a new one, and put a cover on the new one.

My 2013 was wearing bad on top under my ring finger. I just put a cover on it. My 2010 did the same thing, both had the urethane wheel
