Default Steering effort

I have a new to me 14 fx4 with 5.0
It seems to have an issue with the steering effort.
It feels a little too hard to initiate the steering wheel.
I would guess it has something to do with the steering torque sensor.
I Had it aligned and it helped with the steering wheel returning to center but you still have to straighten the steering wheel with a little more effort than normal.
Anyone have a similar problem and what was the remedy?
Thanks

Do you or did your truck come from snowy climates? Road salt can cause the small U joints in the steering shaft to corrode, making it harder to turn. Try spraying the two U joints with penetrating oil. Work the wheels back and forth after application. Give it some time and see if it improves.
