Default How do you install an OEM cruise control switch?

I have a 2014 with no cruise. I gather I only need to replace the switch cluster on the left of the steering wheel and have the dealer flash the puter.

Does anybody know the steps to replace that switch cluster? Specifically, can you simply pull/pry the assembly toward you and it will pop-out without having to dis-assemble the steering wheel or remove the airbag? Thanks.

Didn't know that option was available but see it is available on the Ford accessory website http://accessories.ford.com/kit-spee...rol-10205.html

Yeah ya have to remove the air bag to change it. No other option.

Pretty slick using the snap clips. That guy is one of the best youtube channels I subscribe to, loads of info.

Awesome - I had been looking for such a video with no luck.
Ok, air bag... ugggh, it was nice knowin' ya.

I see that the switch pack still does come straight out. I wonder if it can be pulled out without touching the airbag. The only "hitch" would be if the electrical connector had enough slack. Maybe I'll give that a try first.

I replaced the right side switch on my last F-150 (12 XLT) when I changed over to a navigation unit. I didn't take the airbag out and it was a PIA because the harness is REALLY short. Do yourself a favor and remove the airbag.

On my Dodge minivan, they had you disc the battery before working on anything airbag. Good idea. Then, be sure no one is in cab when reconnecting battery. They also had you enter from the pass side to turn on the ignition the first time after reconnecting the air bag. Just in case.
