Default On startup, MAX A/C turns on

I bought my 2010 F150 SuperCrew used 4 months ago and noticed that, periodically, the A/C will kick on when I fire it up. I know for a fact that I'm not leaving it on before shutting it down. I rarely use my A/C, but if I do, I always turn it off before shutting down my truck.

I realize this isn't really hurting my truck, but it's kind of annoying.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Thanks!

Cool

Which model do you have? Do you have the 4.2" information center in your gauge cluster? If you do, then you have options within the settings and information menus for changing how things work. Like weather or not to turn on your heat/Ac at start up. Durations for auto start, headlight delay and a whole lot of other stuff. It could be that the truck is set to turn on the heat/Ac at a set temp. or at a temp it was on when you shut it off. That would be my guess....

I had a similar issue with my 2012 Mustang. The gauges would read 88 F and the fan would show maximum thrust. This happened too when switching from the front defrost blower to front facing blower. Weird phenomenon. Never figured out the reason why

It's a Lariat, but no navigation or touchscreen. To my knowledge, there aren't any settings for climate control that kicks on at certain temps. I'll do some digging though. It's just random. It'll do it 7-8 starts in a row and then won't do it for weeks. We've even had a few colder mornings and the MAX A/C kicked on the too. If it was set up to sense outside temp, I would think the heat should kick on.

OK, I have a Lariat also. I was referring to the information center that is in your gauge cluster between your speedo and tach.. Maybe it's different on the 2010? The headings should read
Gauge mode
Trip A/B
Fuel Economy
Truck Apps
Settings
Information

Under Settings is where I believe you can change the settings for auto start, headlight delay durations, auto climate control on/off, at auto start, and others. Or it could be an entirely different problem. Just thought it may be your issue....

Oh, ok...I thought you meant where the radio is located. I read your response too early this morning

I'll give that a shot later tonight and let you know what I find.

Thank you!
