The box is removed for the Line-X to applied.

Edit: Bolts removed, dealer said they removed the box.....unreliable source.

They unbolt the bed from the truck, but don't take the bed off the frame. They cover the rest of your truck before spraying the linex. There's a linex shop here in Regina, if you made a trip into reg, and dropped your truck off with them, you should be able to pick it up that day. I was told to wait 24 hrs after getting my truck back before loading stuff in it though.

It comes out of the gun that hot and is dry in minutes. And no, the box is left on the truck. When you first get there, we clean out the box of everything that is in there including the hold down bolts and anchor hooks, sand down the entry surface then 'gun wash' it to remove all the dust and other oils. The entire truck gets taped and then papered so that nothing else gets hit with the over spray. As soon as the spraying is done, all the paper and tape is removed, your tail gate is put back on (which also gets sprayed, unless you don't want it to get sprayed), the box is bolted back down and you drive way a happy camper. The whole process should take anywhere between 1 - 1/2 hours. To clean you just use hot soapy water.

My box is already beat to crap though- dents, scratches etc. so I'm doing it for rust prevention now. It won't look nearly as good as that!

Even if your bed is beat, it will come out looking a lot better!

When we had boxes that were all beat up, we tried to 'bang' out the dents to smooth out the surface as much as we possipble, especially the around the wheel wells. No matter how bad the bed looked when it first arrived, it looked almost like a new one when it left.

We used to also do rocker guard along the entire length of the truck, about 6inches wide...total pain in the butt for use because of all the prep work but looked amazing when it was done. You can even get it colour matched to the truck if you wish....little more extra for that though.

Anybody have an experience with Line-X of Longwood (just north of Orlando, FL)?

Thinking about having them do the bed of my truck.
