Default Speaker sounds blown - 2014 F150 XLT

The front right speaker on my 2014 F150 sounds blown, especially at low volume. Any sort of bass sounds extremely distorted. The weird thing is that it's done this before but seemed to magically fix itself.... Now its back. I never really crank the stereo past 1/3 so I don't think it's blown.

Anyone else have this issue?

Common issue that's been around for years. Ford engineers can't be bothered to have a permanent fix.

Warranty should fix it.

Mine does this too, it seemed to start shortly after I installed the kicker system. Interested to find a solution.

It could possibly be blown. Distorting like that sounds like the motor or suspension is shot. Probably a defect and no fault of your own. Some speakers, especially the extreme cheap pieces of absolute crap they stick in cars OEM, can have a defective motor or suspension. If you still have the bumper to bumper warranty, it should cover it.

I had this same problem. You'd be surprised how well new speakers sound compared to the garbage ones that come in the truck.

known issue. they'll just slap another cheap $10 speaker in there.

My ole '14 Tremor had the muffled blown bass sound the day I drove it home.

Sounds like a good excuse to upgrade.

Mine has done it for four years off and on, I personally think it's an electronic problem because of a speakers blown it always sounds blown.

Mine did it. I was tired of the Ford speaker for I replaced them with infinity speakers. Recently I have been having trouble with the driver side door again. Goes in and out all the time. Roll down the window, goes out. Turn left, goes out. It also randomly goes out but always comes back as soon as I turn the volume up. I guess I will be taking the door panel off and examining this situation soon.
