Spare tire question...

The spare tire my truck came with is still in it's cradle under the bed and there it will remain until such time I require it's service. I upgraded my tires from 30" to 35's.
The spare is for temporary use, and I see people flying down the freeway all the time on those temp spares and makes me cringe, at least our spares are full size and not like those mini pop temp tires.
You will be fine using the spare your truck came with, just get the other tire repaired/replaced asap.

You can fit a 35" tire in the spare tire location under the truck, you might have to remove the heat shield by the tail pipe though. Have a 315/70/17 spare under mine right now.

The spare isn't mean to be a permanent fix obviously. Size matters, but doesn't have to be exact simply because the purpose of a spare has always been to get you from the spot of your flat(A) to where you need to go to get your tire fixed/replaced(B).
I know that's obvious, but something I asked others as well when I bought bigger tires and that's exactly what I was told. I've had to use it once and had no issues, though I was using it with caution, not going crazy
