Some observations after 500 miles on 2011 XLT
Two weeks and 500 miles on a Black 2011 XLT screw 5.0, 4X4, 3:55, 18" wheels, sync and satellite radio many trim packages. I traded in a 1999 Expedition, that I bought new, with 180K miles. Winter came early here and has not left yet. Lots of snow and very cold.
1. My Expedition was AWD with switch in 4H and 4L. This has been an adjustment for me. That '99 was a tank and went through everything a Buffalo winter could throw at it. Tires were Wranglers but with a more agressive tread. The '11 is of course not AWD and I get those back tires loose a bit backing in the snow or starting at a light. Turning is a bit different too. Not getting pulled through on turns. These Wranglers have more of a highway tread pattern. I can adjust to all of this.
2. Radio and it's sound, for me, will have to be improved. I did not think I would like satellite radio but I do. It's pretty cool.
3. Gas mileage is not a biggie for me. (In the summer I drive a '66 Vette with a zz383 stroker.) I've averaged 12 MPG all around town. Lots of morning remote starter 15 minute warmups to get the ice/snow off. So my avg MPG is down.
4. This 5.0 has a lot of power. My wife has a 90 Mustang GT 5.0. It's not that fast but it will get up and go. Real happy with that.
5. Interior is very comfortable. Dash is like a spaceship. Very quiet. Going to Daytona Beach next week and it will be a very nice ride.
6. Sync will not talk to my Pantech phonebook. Everything else works but my stored numbers won't download. Others have had the same problem. No big deal.
Great looking truck and a lot of people comment.

In regards to the sync, have you been to http://www.syncyride.com/ You can download and update there and then load it in your vehicle. I recommend it because my truck needed an update and now my phone works great. Plus sync my ride does a ton of other cool **** too.

You can update the Sync Operating System all you need is a USB Stick. You plug it in and follow the download directions on the computer, then take it out to your truck and fokllow the screen prompts to select USB and install the software, took me a few minutes to do it all from start to finish.

Dennis, please let us know how your mileage goes after Daytona. My truck is similar, but w/ 20" wheels I'm just shy of 500 miles and am still around 12MPG. Did my first fill up the other day with 93 octane Shell (10% ethanol). Love the truck, but not impressed by mileage so far.
