Default Softest and Quietest Ride

Vehicle: 2013 F-150 4x4 3.44

I'm looking for the best ride I can while keeping the 20" factory wheels. I was thinking Michelin M/S 2's for tires, but I'm open to opinions.

Not sure if bags or some new shocks would make the ride feel a little more supple. Seems like the Bilsteins are the top choice on this site.

I don't tow, but if I ever did it would be something extremely minimal. Thanks for any advice!

M/S2 are in fact a great ride. I'm not a Goodyear fan but their Silent Armor seems to get good praise. The Michelin Lattitude is a soft choice too. Regardless you're going to get flamed for wanting a soft riding truck.

For what it's worth the Bilstein 5100s are stiff. However their lesser offerings are not as stiff. KYB and Monroe also make good options for a more supple ride.

I have 20in M/S 2's. They are quiet and very nice riding tires.

I also have 20in LTX M/S2 on my truck. I think it's a great tire. I do a lot of city driving and make monthly trips from PA to MI to see family. The reviews of this tire on tire rack were spot on. Very quiet, great traction and wear. I just got to drive in mixed snow and ice over the past two weeks and was very impressed. Good luck

You not the only one who likes a truck with a compliant ride, I do too! With that said, the Ram 1500 I had has the best ride, however, you pay for it when you tow. Plenty of power (had a Hemi) but the suspension is to weak for a 6k trailer.

I think the F-150 is a good compromise.

Thanks for the replies. I'm sure some people will flame, and that's fine. I bought the truck as a daily driver that had some capabilities when my boys are a little older and want to go hunting/camping etc. For now, a soft & quiet ride is what I'm looking for.

Wouldn't wish the MS2's on my worst enemy. Bought a set, had nothing but balancing and vibration issues. Prorated them under warranty and got another set, more balancing and vibration issues. Finally dumped them and got some Toyo AT2's, no more balancing issues.

Lots of tires will give you that nice quiet ride you're looking for, but don't overpay for the MS2. Bridgestone Dueler HL Alenzas are very quiet and smooth and not too expensive.

I have the Michelin AT2s. They are a bit more noisy below -15C (0F ?) than the MS2s I had on before, but the same at warm temperatures. I also have bilstein 5100s and would suggest NOT getting them if you want a smoother ride. I have them set for the stock height and they ride somewhat stiffer than the OEM originals. I would suggest the bilstein 4600 series if you want quality shocks with a softer ride.

The Bilstein 4600 series are slightly more compliant than the performance leaning 5100's. The 4600's will be my replacement shock when I'm due.

I've had the Michelin M/S's twice on on a previous truck and the A/T 2 on the same truck. The A/T 2's are my current preference.
