So someone stole my tailgate??
Ok someone stole my tailgate off of my 2012 f150 fx4 at work a few weeks ago and just now getting all the reports back and insurance check to replace it. Mine had the backup cam on it. Does anyone know of anywhere I can find one? I have called a few dealerships and nothing looks promising through them. I thought someone on here might know of somthing?

Sorry to hear that. I do several things to protect mine:
1. Back into spots against trees, walls, buildings or whatever I can as often as I can.
2. Immediately bought a hinge lock so it just can't be lifted off. 1st mod.
3. Keep the tailgate locked ALL THE TIME.
I may not protect me 100% but it's better then nothing.
Good luck finding your new tailgate/camera.

Dang, dang, dang. I JUST installed a tailgate lock. Maybe you can buy yours back on ebay? ( How are they making money on these? )

I saw a report on TV that some guy got his tailgate stolen... found one on Ebay - met the guy in some parking lot to buy it - noticed it was HIS FRICKEN TAILGATE by some scratches he had made when it was on his truck and beat the crap out of the guy who stole it then tried to sell it back to him. FUNNY

I forgot to lock it back, just hauled some stuff for a friend moving. and i was back up close to a chainlink fence. I dont understand it where could they be selling them...it pisses me off!

It's a huge business - a lot of them come back to underground body shops and sold back to unsuspecting people.
My wife is paranoid about having the tailgate stolen. Keeping it locked helps.
I'm not sure - can we do the hose clamp anti-theft mod on these gates? I had that on my '07 Tacoma and worked like a charm.
