So I got a call about a truck from a dealer that matched what I was looking for. Then it hit me, I never asked anyone, "does a plow void the warranty?" The salesman said, oh yeah, warranty it right out the window.
I stopped in a local dealer and asked the same question. He said due to the electric power steering on the 2011's, the plow companies won't go near them. I let him know that the small electric lift plow I use has a mount for the 2011 F150's. He was surprised and said "well that's the first one I heard of". and "well, there is nothing on paper that says a plow will void the warranty."

So, what the heck is the real answer?

Any warranty claim that is denied has to be caused by the installed item. They can't void your entire warranty bc it has a snow plow on it. I would think a snow plow on an f150 would be rough on it tho. I see f250's on eBay with snow plows that don't say anything about the warranty being void. I would call the service department bc that is who you have to deal with. I've been told by a salesman that it won't void the warranty; a programmer on a new dmax is 03, only to find out he had no idea what I was talking about. And of course he no longer worked there.

Superduty's are a different topic. They have a snow plow upgrade option available...150's don't. My money...it will void the warranty.

This small plow served me fine for 4 seasons on my small Ranger. I do my own drive. It is large, long and steep, but I don't use it commercially.
This is not a question of "if" the F150 can handle it. Thant can't be disputed.

The question is, will it void the warranty.

Thanks for the idea to call the service department, I will do that.

Couldn't agree more about the ability...however, if you service department finds out you are using it for an unintended purpose, you can bet they will void your warranty. My $.02.

They can't void your warranty bc you have a snowplow on it. If your electric power steering goes out and you have a snow plow mount in the front they are prob going to try to make you pay for that. Don't let the service Dept push you around and tell you it would void your warranty. Is the snow plow mount hard to put on? Ours is 2 bolts on each side and the mount comes off. Just remove it before you take it in. Or buy a beater truck for your snow plow and save yourself a headache lol

Yeah, a beater truck won't be a headache (sarcasm).

I thought about just taking the mounts and wiring off when I needed service.
But I think the way the hardware wraps around the frame would leave tell tale marks.

When in doubt, look it up, so I went to the owner's manual and warranty guides and made an interesting discovery. For the 2010s, it gives details about how to outfit the truck for snowplowing (recommends 4x4, 5.4l engine and snowplow prep package). See pages from the owners manual attached.

But for the 2011s, the owner's manual says, in bold, "Do not use this vehicle for snowplowing". So my thought would be that a dealer could give you a hard time if they claimed that the snowplowing casued the warranty issue you wanted to get fixed.
