Snapped my left rear axle shaft. Should I replace with Oem or does anyone make a better replacement for both ? Had to happen day before thanksgiving when I'm moving rest of week .

And from my searching doesn't seem like anyone has ever broken one on this generation yet they are available everywhere. Left hard coming out of a traffic circle and bam no more go locked in the e locker and 4wd to go a block back to work.

There has been, I believe Yukon axle and gear makes a nice replacement.

How did you break it?

Edit, just saw last post about breakage!

That's crazy!

There is an aftermarket one available that is supposed to be stronger, but it is over 2k for it. RCV performance makes them. They're really intended for suspension setups that require more down travel like long travel setups. You are better off getting an oem replacement or even one from a parts store that has a warranty. The shafts are not that expensive and unless you break them on a regular basis, then there is no need to spend thousands on cv axles.

Well I don't baby it but I sure don't beat on it like I have vehicles in the past. Has 40k miles has been lifted for 1500 miles . Roads were wet and had a little wheel spin. Really has me worried as I don't want to keep breaking them it's my first actual lifted truck going to be driving like a old lady from now on.

I'm sure it was a fluke. I don't baby my truck and I have LS and no issues.

Don't suppose those 35"s and wheel offset could have any thing to do with it.
