Default 2013 dvd?

Keep reading on the forum about late model Nav systems playing DVDs. Anybody know for sure if you can play a DVD on a 13 Nav screen. I see nothing in the manual and anytime I slide in a DVD all I get is disc read error.

If the manual says nothing about being able to play a DVD and when u put it in, it doesn't play, I'd say that's a pretty good indicator that it doesn't support DVDs lol

No. They didn't include it so it would keep the price down on the system. The MSRP's of the 2013's are lower now because of the simpler system with no DVD playback or built-in HDD. A loaded FX4 is about $1,200 cheaper now.

Why not get a little DVD player (I got one for my uncle's 2013, 1080p compact for $45), plug it into the 110v rear plug, and run the RCA's to the inputs in the console?

Thanx HC, and the Nav card takes the place of the HDD, I got ya Buddy. Really don't need a DVD, but was curious as hell only because the older models had it. Small player in console with the RCAs, 110, and maybe a Locpick is a great thought and may be neat even if I never watch it, heheh! Thanx Again!!
