slide in truck camper on a supercrew?

The lance 825 and 865 is designed for short bed truck (6.5')... but with that being said... it will still go over the max payload of the F-150. Its up to you to do some mods to make it work. These mods wont change the posted payload ratings and its up to you to determine if you feel safe or not with the setup.

Yeah, 6.5 would be better but I've got a 5.5. I asked about 6.5 to see if anyone was getting under payload requirements, which are very close between the two. Payload is 1598 on the door sticker of my truck, so there is no way an 1500 lb truck camper is going to fall within that with all gear loaded (unless some mods are done)

There are options for the 5.5 bed, you just have to do a lot of research. I have most of my links saved at home, but here is two from memory that will work in a 5.5 bed.

I have been looking for a SCREW camper as well, but it is hard to find one cheap to fit a SCREW since they are so new (less then 10 years old).
Also, check out Palimino Brand. They have truck campers that collapse and are lighter. I will need something like one of these (extra light weight) because I am already towing a 5000 lb boat. You can do it in an f150, heck they make campers for Rangers, S10's, Dakota's Etc.

2011 SCREW 6.5' EB
lite weight with a real bathroom will be tough, may be impossible, all the ones I found with a bathroom then had the camper extending past the tailgate which moved the COG back to far and were much heavier. Keep us updated on your research, I am curious to see if you find anything else other then what I found.

Here's my rig-
2010 2wd screw 4.6L 3v 5.5 shortbed
"E" rated 33" tires
Roadmaster Active Suspension
4.56 gears
9.75 rear axle
Bilstein 5100's
payload (on the sticker) - 1598
I will add a rear block and a leaf or swap out the spring pack completely with custom or the oem HD spring pack from the HD payload package if I end up going the truck camper route. The leaf springs appear to be the weak link in the suspension which brings payload down. The motors fine. The tires are fine. The gears are better than fine. That 9.75 rear axle reportedly can do 4500-5000 lbs GAWR. The sticker says 3900 lb. GAWR on the rear axle due to the softer springs being used. There's room here for improvement.
I have Lance and Travel Lite dealers within driving distance from my house, so I am focusing on those brands. Here's what I have imagined (but not tested) might work if one's significant other must have bath/shower.
Lance - 825 and 865. Both are really heavy in that 1800+ range or so.
Travel Lite - 840SBR and 890SBR. Again really heavy in that 1800+ range.
Focusing on center of gravity and overhang for these models. Overhang on a 5.5 bed isn't pretty ... around 3 ft. Putting the tailgate down would eliminate all but 6 inches of overhang but I am not feeling to good about this idea just yet.

I heard leaving the tailgate down will ding it up pretty good from rocks. You should look into adventurer camper. They are way lighter and has a manual slide out. If you can't find it, I can get u the model # when I get home.
