Default Skyjacker SKYF9461KS-N Lift on 2009 + F-150

I just purchased a 2012 F-150 Super Crew 4x4 XLT 3.55 w/ELD and a 6.5 bed. I'm wanting to lift it the RIGHT way (by not using blocks) but the only lift I could find without blocks that actually had a rear leaf pack was the Skyjacker SKYF9461KS-N (or - H if you want hydro instead of nitrogen shocks). Anyway, this is by far the best way to lift a pickup, yet I can't find a single person with this lift. Why? Is there something I'm missing or does everyone just go the junky route of using blocks. Everyone says to go with BDS, but BDS uses bocks...that's horrible. Why would anyone recommend that? Either way, I think this will definitely be the lift I get unless someone has a reason that it won't work. Blocks in the back = axle wrap, and axle wrap = premature failure down the road....literally.

You could always get a set of Deavers. I'm sure there are other spring companies that would custom make a set.

Thanks. But I already checked and no one makes them for the 2009 + F-150's....

I have the skyjacker on my 09.i have had it since April or May of 09. I believe it was one of the first lifts pot for our trucks. I have never had a problem with the lift of how the truck feels with it. My wife and a couple friends say my truck rides stiff of rough. I have the max tow and when I'm pulling a heavy load everyone loves the ride. So I'm guessing the stiff ride is from not having much weight in the rear. I have never regretted the skyjacker. I can't think of a reason not to get it. My lift does require 20 inch wheels. I believe this is why others choose a different lift. Good luck and let me know if you need anymore info from me.

I think bulletproof suspension doesnt have rear blocks or they have an option for it. Check them out. They also garuntee improved ride vs. stock and their kit requires no cutting like most do. its all bolt on

great info, thanks guys!

jmrob, Do you think you could run an offset that pushes the rim's out far enough to clear the ball joint mount for the steering and then run 18's? Or are 20's required and that would that not be feasible....

I'm not sure if that would work. I would email skyjacker and find out what they recommend. I can take a look before I head to work in the morning.

I checked out the site. If you look at the installation instructions it states a 20 inch wheel is required.

Yeah I did too. I called and asked and he said it was because of the steering knuckle. I know it says it requires 20's but I thought maybe there was a way around it (like using an extreme offset to push the rim out past the knuckle). I'm going to measure the stock part on my pickup and post a pic, and then if you could measure yours, that would be great.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the deciding factor on going with the skyjacker vs other brand lifts?
