Default Sirius sound quality?

I have a 2013 F150 with My Ford Touch. There is a very noticeable sound quality difference with all Sirius channels compared to standard FM radio, let alone HD radio (which kicks a** by the way). All of my Sirius stations have a "tinty" sound to them...not as bad as AM radio, but not nearly as good as any of the FM options, iPod, CD, etc. The XM sound quality in our GM is much better, so I was expecting something at least similar. The sound quality sounds like a really old version of Satellite radio I had years ago where I stuck an external antenna on the roof and piped the music through a FM station.

Is there the potential that something is wrong, or is Sirius sound quality just that much inferior to other media options? At this point, unless something is wrong, it's not worth renewing the Sirius subscription.

For the record, I love this truck, been damn near flawless so far (knock on wood). I plan to post some pics and other details soon....2013 white ext/black interior Platinum, SCREW, 4WD, 3.73, 6.5ft bed, EB. 800 miles or so, averaging 17.5 mpg (truck computer) at 70-75mph. Hard to keep the foot off the damn pedal around town.

For some reason it sounds like **** in the Fords! I had it in both my 2007 hummer H3, and my wife's Saab, and it sounded Great in both of those! But yes nothings wrong with your radio, in the f150's the quality is crappy!

I didn't renew mine because the programming just wasn't worth it to me.
I did replace the crappy speakers and play tunes off my IPhone and notice a huge difference in sound quality.

One thing I've always noticed with sat radio is that some channels sound better than others. It's like they allocate more bandwidth to some than others, causing the low bandwidth channels to sound like low bitrate mp3s. I've noticed this in all my cars with Sirius and xm.
