Just as I suspected all along, the acceleration shudder a lot of us are experiencing is not due to axle wrap. In the second half of the video, you can see the u-joint is no where CLOSE to being maxed out and causing the shudder, like so many believed to be the case.

looks like motor /tranny mounts are way too soft. There should not be that much movement from the engine or tranny. Something has to give sooner or later. My 2013 xlt sc with 4x4 and 5.0 has no shudder and has been trouble free since new and I don't baby it either. I tow a 20' boat and also a 29' tt on occasion and have no shudder.

It shouldn't do that regardless of the mount's density. Since it doesn't do it all the time it tells me there is something going on during that specific time that is causing it.

I'd like Ford to explain that video! They designed and built these trucks so they ought to come up with an engineered solution. As someone said sooner or later it's going to cause a problem with other parts failing. No way should it look like that imo……..

Every OP that brings their truck to a dealer for this issue should show them that video! Let them say it's….. normal? I don't think so….. Now what the fix is I have no clue but it sure needs to be addressed by Ford!

Thank you for this video!!!

I think a few members on this forum that posted about swapping out the factory transmission mount for a 5.4 liter Raptor trans mount were definitely on to something. I know the 5.4 came in 2010 Raptors but I'm not sure about other years.

The funny thing is I was just fixing to use a ratchet strap this weekend and temporarily strap down the transmission to the cross member to see if that did anything before I went out and dumped another round of cash on a fix that wouldn't work.........
