Default 2nd the grey painted pockets

Anyway, now people know what to look at. I don't have those, but I like the grey-painted pockets on various wheels, esp on darker trucks. I'm sure they'd look great.
I bet these would look good too, they appear to be machined and have the grey pockets like my '14 STX Sport has. I went to powder coated gloss black Platinum model from a '13 for a few months, and the wheel details are difficult to see being a black truck w black wheels. I went back to the machined w grey pockets on my black truck, the contrast just looks better to me.

My truck is a 2013. I recently got a set of 2016 Limited Expedition Wheels. I machined my own custom center cap and had the caps and wheels powder coated silver. Had to make my own because the factory caps are plastic and cant be powder coated. Then wrapped them with 33X12.50R22 Toyo MTs.

Real clean Z7What.
Had the same idea as I but I couldn't find a good enough deal on the expeditions, instead got a smoking deal on some '13 Limiteds and did the same powdercoating. So instead of a gen swap it's a model swap. 305/45r22 Terra Grappler G2

The ride is a little more rough but i honestly think its due to the E rated LT tire, before i had P tires. The coilovers i have improved the ride so much that even with the little rougher ride, its still better than stock suspension and stock tires.

Its funny you say that. I actually had a set of 13 Limited wheels that i planned to powder coat but found the Expedition wheels that i liked so much more. I think its the squarness of the spoke i like better. I had the 13 Limited wheels for sale over a year and couldnt sell them. So i bit the bullet and ordered the Expedition wheels. Finally sold the 13 Limited wheels with center caps and TPMS Sensors for $450 and used that money towards the powder coating bill. Between the cost of the wheels, tires, powercoating, TPMS Sensors and material for my center caps i have a small furtune invested in them but i love the look of them and couldnt be happier so in the end i think it was all worth it.

Im assuming you had the wheels powder coated the same as the factory FX wheels so they would match the center caps? The Expedition wheels had a different size center cap so i couldnt use my stock caps. I didnt want to buy a set of caps for a Expedition because they were plastic and plastic cant be powder coated so i bought some solid aluminum round stock and machined my own center cap on my dads lathe. His lathe was just a little to small and the material was just a little to big to make all 4 of them. So after i made one, i brought it to a local machine shop and had them make me 4 more.

Just a FYI, this will work on your truck! I have one on mine!

Some 13 Limited Fender Emblems like mine would clean it up even more!

Yes the FX grey is what I went with in order to use the OEM caps. I've been meaning to get the limited badges, just not high on the list. Probably would go the painted route.

Z7What, looks great with the newer get wheels.

Zimmer0..Curious to know if you used a Ford color code to match the powdercoating to the center caps? Or did you just bring the caps to your guy and let him eyeball it? I like that shade, it darker but not so dark that you can't make out the wheel details.
