Show off your platinums

2009 F150 Platinum
I put right around 80% down on my platinum when I bought it. (Took awhile to save that money) but my payment is less than $175/month. If you figure in insurance, payment, yearly licensing fee as a monthly cost for my truck it is less than $300 a month. Plus we are paying ahead on it when we can, looks like it will be done and paid for by the end of the year, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
I think for most people with a good job, you can afford what you want, but it is about priorities, budgeting, patience, and compromise. I knew I wanted a Platinum, so I started looking at ones that were close to what I wanted to spend. I also spent quite a while living cheaply and not spending money on other wasteful things, and in less than a year my wife and I saved up plenty of money to get a truck that i can be happy with for a long time.

I'm 21 years old I'm married and have no kids, I drive a 2011 platinum 4x4 Ecoboost, my wife drives a 2012 Chevrolet equinox 2LT and we just bought a brand new home valued at 170,000. Not trying to blow myself up but priorities are number 1. I had a 2006 5.9 cummins with about 20,000 invested in it and my wife and a crazy lifted jeep. We grew up got rid of our toys and got reliable vehicles. I don't make much money maybe $75k a year and my wife maybe 20k we don't go out and blow money and I'm never home, due to work. I believe it's okay to treat yourself to nice things as long as you can afford it. End of story

Here's my baby, it's a Tuxedo Black 2010 Platinum with a 4 inch BDS lift, 18" KMC Addict rims with 35" Mickey Thompson Baha MTZ tires, and a Hypertech Max Energy programmer. I love my Platinum! Congrats to all you other Platinum owners (and all other trucks too). Gotta love 'em!

It's like anything else in this world, when your on top people try and knock you down. Think of it like this, we are the kings of the truck world, and the xlts, fx4s, and Lariats are mere peasants amongst us.
When I drive by them I always look in my rear view mirror to see their jaws drop and watch them go through their mind about why they didn't get a Platinum. I laugh, check my navigation screen, turn my sony sound system up, and turn my AC seats on high.
