I put right around 80% down on my platinum when I bought it. (Took awhile to save that money) but my payment is less than $175/month. If you figure in insurance, payment, yearly licensing fee as a monthly cost for my truck it is less than $300 a month. Plus we are paying ahead on it when we can, looks like it will be done and paid for by the end of the year, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

I think for most people with a good job, you can afford what you want, but it is about priorities, budgeting, patience, and compromise. I knew I wanted a Platinum, so I started looking at ones that were close to what I wanted to spend. I also spent quite a while living cheaply and not spending money on other wasteful things, and in less than a year my wife and I saved up plenty of money to get a truck that i can be happy with for a long time.

I do have the lineX, and I don't abuse my truck much, however I did buy a truck, I haul firewood and hunting stuff quite a bit in the winter, if I wanted luxury that I had to baby all the time I would have gotten a Range Rover. You probably wouldn't like seeing what old farmers/ranchers do with their platinums/king ranches in Oklahoma. Haha, but who am I to tell them what to do with their $55k trucks.

I'm 21 years old I'm married and have no kids, I drive a 2011 platinum 4x4 Ecoboost, my wife drives a 2012 Chevrolet equinox 2LT and we just bought a brand new home valued at 170,000. Not trying to blow myself up but priorities are number 1. I had a 2006 5.9 cummins with about 20,000 invested in it and my wife and a crazy lifted jeep. We grew up got rid of our toys and got reliable vehicles. I don't make much money maybe $75k a year and my wife maybe 20k we don't go out and blow money and I'm never home, due to work. I believe it's okay to treat yourself to nice things as long as you can afford it. End of story

Default Patium

Here's my baby, it's a Tuxedo Black 2010 Platinum with a 4 inch BDS lift, 18" KMC Addict rims with 35" Mickey Thompson Baha MTZ tires, and a Hypertech Max Energy programmer. I love my Platinum! Congrats to all you other Platinum owners (and all other trucks too). Gotta love 'em!

I like it! Sporting the chrome! Just don't add anymore of it, I think it's the perfect balance as she sits now...

My Lariat has damn near everything your Platinum has with the exception of the auto fold running boards which I hate, the funky silver panel on the tailgate and the pimp lights on the interior.......oh.....and half of the wheel being wood. There was less than 1k difference the cost of my Lariat and a Platinum. Trust me....my Jaws do not drop at the sight of a Platinum. I could easily afford one. My 2013 will be paid off when I get the first payment. Only reason I financed it was to get the additional 1k from Ford. The Lariat is a much cleaner looking truck IMHO.

Thanks LariBoost23! I agree, don't want anymore chrome, but like the look of what I have.
