That's my house. My wife and I served as the General Contractor in the construction. One of my cousins and his crew helped us frame it and did most of the drywalling, the chimney, etc. We moved into it unfinished and did nearly all of the interior finishing ourselves. The main part of the house is a 36' x 44' cape. The garage is 30' x 36', with a 3rd bay in the rear for my tractor. There is a 16' x 18' connector section between the main house and the garage. We put it on a 19 acre wooded parcel.

We designed the house ourselves. We built our dream house at at time in life when others are downsizing. I like the room, though. Oh yes, it's paid for. If we can continue to afford the taxes, we can keep it.

Someday soon, I hope to get something better than that sand on my 300 ft driveway and parking area. We'll probably pave a large apron in front of the garage, but it would be quite costly to pave the whole thing.

Sweet deal. My wife (we're actually just engaged right now, but it's easier to say "the wife") and I are starting to hammer out details of our design. I decided on going with a 36'x28' three stall garage. Big enough for a 22' long truck (future proof) and a work bench. We plan on going with a bit of a contemporary craftsman style. Nothing too modern, but clean lines and artisan touches.

We picked up a 2.3 acre parcel on top of one of the hills north of Fairbanks, and we can't wait to get a house up there. Probably still be a couple years though, as we are young and building up the funds for construction.

Thanks for sharing, Dennis. Looks like it's going to be a perfect dream home when all is said and done. I can't wait to find our a sizable piece of acreage to build our dream home.

Anyway, sorry posters for getting off topic. I just love trucks and architecture, design, and construction. Sometimes I start to get off topic.

Oh I see. Well thanks. I had to have it the second I saw it online. I got a killer deal too. But the lift will be for sale soon. And the wheels and tires. And the lights might be going also.

It's so awesome to see that you have put the 18" 2011+ FX4 rims on your XLT. I've been wanting to find a set ever since I ordered my truck. With those rims, I think the stock grill looks good. If I were to do anything different, I may try the 6 bar chrome grill, but then the chrome might clash with the "silver" of the wheels.

Tough choice for you, but the truck does look great just as it sits now.

My 2012 XLT. I plan to axe the 4x4 offroad decals and add some harley lights along with my 285 bfg's and raptor wheels. Also looking for a stock FX Grille.
