FWIW, your setup is only as good as its weakest link...

Also use quality coax and a quality antenna..

Just tuck it right under neath the 8-track like everyone else.

I've given this some consideration as well. Just wish they had more range with a shorter antannae.

To each is own i guess. The same reason indint have. 1200 tonneaubcover and i have a toolbox. It suits my needs. I you do a lot of highwaybdriving a cb would come in handy and. Having it tucked under the backseat may look clean and hidden but its not practical so people mount it where tey can use it

I had a Cobra 75WX installed in my 4runner with a 4' Firestik. It had at least a 5 mile range around town (urban). I never really checked how far it went on the road. I've only used it a few times in the 5+ yrs I had it installed so I haven't installed it in the F150 yet. I'll probably install it this spring.

I kept the cb in the glove box and had the connector come out from the center console that was tucked away when not in use. I also had a quick disconnect on the antenna which was stored in the back of the truck most of the time.

Different people, different needs. What happens to that app when you're out of cell phone range? There isn't a lot of drilling involved to install with the handhelds and it's good to have when you're in the middle of nowhere. If you don't go out in the middle of nowhere, then you probably don't need one.

I usually just stick one in the truck when pulling the RV. Some of the truckers conversations are right entertaining. They will always let you know where smokie is and especially if there is an accident and a backup up ahead. Not much worst than coming up on a backup and setting for long period of time with no escape route.
