Notice we are not screwing into our new dash, we are screwing into the little tray that is on the dash.

Mounted mine on the cup holder.

Removed the center seatback and put on a pair of 06 ford focus headrests.

That tray comes right out all drilling was done on the bench in my cellar, there is a rubber mat on top of the tray that lifts right out so if the truck ever gets traded or sold the mat goes back on and the holes are covered up..

Oh, well I drilled though the mat on top, oops...I had to put piece of rubber on top of that so it would sit level

I had to go with a larger mounting bracket because of the heat sinks on the bottom of the radio it just barely fits..

Evnthough some may think cb's are yesterdays technology, it is still a good tool to have. I have been thinking about the Cobra handheld mobile. I can keep it in the center console and put the antenna on the dash. No drilling or visible signs in cab or big whips. Anyone out there using one of these ?

I agree, awful range even in the 4 watt setting on the handheld models. My favorite CB is the Cobra 29 series, I have two of them. Fairly inexpensive with excellent range right out of the box.
