Default Should I? Tuner

my truck has 156000 miles. I leveled it and put 35s on it and can’t find anywhere other than the dealer who can recalibrate the revolutions per mile. If I’m going to pay $120 for them to do it, why wouldn’t I spend another few hundred and get a tuner? My only concern, is it worth it considering the age of the truck. I don’t know if I got a newer truck if the tuner could be used on the newer, 2015 or newer, truck. What would you do?

There are wizards here who do stuff like that with Forscan, but I'm not one of them.

If that tire size is in Fords ids system, maybe you can dealer shop and find the best rate on it.

I tried Forscan, but to no avail. I tried AutoEngenuity as well and that didn’t work. I wouldn’t mind fixing the acceleration lag with the performance tuner either.

Do standard tuners adjust throttle lag? There are specific throttle tuners.

Reportedly, Forscan is hit and miss on changing tire sizes for 12th Gen trucks, and mostly miss.

Your local Ford dealership can do it, but only if you've gone to one of the other stock tire sizes.

A tuner will do it. If you want to go that route, wait about a week, as there are usually decent Black Friday deals on them.

The dealer is hit/miss too. Forscan changes the same exact line as IDS so if one doesn't work, the other won't either.

yes you should I changed my rim size in my tuner and it got 2.4 miles per gallon more on the average per tank. my only regret is I did not get a tuner quicker.
