Default Should I take this deal?

I'm looking to buy a 2012 FX4, the dealership is offering me 500 over KBB trade in value on my current truck, and invoice price minus rebates and a free bedliner on theirs. Plus a lifetime power train warranty. Deal or no deal?

The deal sounds good but, $500 over KBB trade-in ?? you may be able to sell your other truck out right for alot more...don't know what your trading in though. good luck.

When you trade in, you save on taxes in some (most?) states. If the truck is $40k and your trade-in is worth $20k, you pay taxes on 20k, not 40k. In NJ, that's $1400 you save so you'd need to sell the truck privately for $21,400 just to break even. Then there's the hassle of selling it privately.

Oh, and it sounds like a great deal.

Pretty good deal. Usually you can get $500 to $1000 under invoice. They are throwing in a plastic bedliner, That's about $250. So I would think you could probably get another $750 or so off that price.
