Should i get duratracs or Toyo Open country MT"s

Lite Up The Twins
Go with the Toyo Open Country MT's.
Had a set on my lifted 2010 Super Duty and loved them, had no wear after a few thousand miles.
They are a bit noisy and gas mileage will suffer a bit but who cares.

I kind of hate these responces to these "which tire should I buy" threads. I quit responding to them because the truth is if you haven't had both then it is pretty much pointless to post an opinion on just one. Yeah, X tire does this, but how to know that Y doesn't either if you never tried them.

I've had 2 sets of duratracs now. 305/55/20 and now I have the 285's. I got 50k on my 305's and still have lots on them. I'm in calgary and ice, mud, snow and anything really, you will not find a better tire. Pricy, but we'll worth the money.

/\ ditto, still on my first set, but will buy them again, from offroad to snow covered roads , not an issue with the Duratracs , a bit louder on the highway if you're going from a OEM tires but you get used to it.

I currently own both sets of tires. 37x13.50r17 Toyo MT's on my Dodge and 275/65/18 Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's on my Wife's F150.
The Toyo's are better in DEEP snow, for sure. The Duratrac's are better on ice and snow packed roads. I had my Toyo's siped which has made the performance on ice/snow pack much better but the Duratrac's are still better. They have the snowflake symbol and are rated for severe snow. If I could get Duratrac's in a 37 I would probably buy them over the Toyo's.
I will say that I have never had a problem with my Toyo's in the city, but I've always been a cautious driver. I also don't have to drive in rush hour traffic in the city, but having 1000+ pounds of weight in the bed and the heavy diesel on the front tires probably helps with acceleration and braking in my Dodge.

Had Duratracs on my Tacoma. They looked awesome, gripped great and weren't too loud on the highway but boy did the ride suck. I couldn't get the vibes out of them. Tried road force balancing, dyna beads and playing with tire pressures.....just sayin'.

If you didn't like the ride of Duratracs than don't ever try M/Ts.
