This is also true, but they are a bit harder to find cuz most jeepers with Rubi's usually run the BFG's for a while before they upgrade, and you have to be really quick because when they do go up for sale, other jeepers ****** up on them fairly quick. And when you do luck out and find them they are a little more pricey than the goodyear's. Those tires are like the toys on the island of misfit toys to jeep peeps.

I run 295/70/17 hankook atm E on stock 17" rims with no level. Truck is a2013 xlt 4x4 5.0 screw 157". I offroad everyday on farm roads and in hay fields. Never have the tires rubbed, even on max compression or flexation(not really a word). Even loaded up with bails and the rear sagging, I didn't get any rub.
Tires are about 33.5 tall and have performed amazing for 59,000km in -40 winter weather.
Tallest tire I have personally seen on a f150 4x4 without a level is 285/75/17 mud tires on stock rims. Those tire did rub during compression but not too bad. Considering his truck is a pavement princess and he only drove up curbs, he got away with it until he bought his 6" lift cause it looks better.

Sry I just reread and saw that the op has a 4x2. So stock I would agree with 275/70/17.
Funny thing is I have a brand new set of rubi takes offs in my garage. To bad you aren't in Canada. Also look for 265/70/17 they can be found cheap on Craigslist. I'm assuming you have the 245/70/17 stockers.

2012 F150 4x2 5.0 285 /70/17 question
Hello, I see everyone discussing the 285/70/17 tires, I currently have 265/70/17 on mine but I'd like a beefier tire. I've seen conflicting answers, will the 285's fit on stock height? -Thank you
