I just installed bilstein 5100 series on my 2012 f150. Now when I'm going over some bumps I hear a clunking sound coming from the rear when driving around town. I'm wonder if this is normal. I installed the rears with the boots down.

I have read of some having that issue when the 5100 is set at it's highest (4th) setting. I have mine at the 3rd setting and have no issues.

The clucking noise sounds like it is the bed bouncing. The backs have been on for about a week now and I notice the noise a few days afterwards. The fronts are set on the .75 in setting and have bee on for couple of days.

When did the noise start, after you installed the front or the rear shocks? I would have all your bolts re-torqued all your bolts to proper spec.

check your drawbar, if you have one, and take it out of of the reciever hitch. check your spare tire, might have lost a little air and just need to be cranked up.

The noise started after the rears where installed. It is more like a thud sound.

Did you install them your self or did a shop do it for you? You may have just gotten a bad shock.
