have read numerous thoughts from all over the web...MANY diff. answers ???
I added the OEM remote start module...had it activated in Forscan...(supposed to be up & running in computer & dash ( I programmed dash cluster)
Ok as I had 2 3 button admin. keysI needed to program 2 new 4 button fobs with also the 2 3-buttons.....Here is the problem:

2 3-buttons work as normal...of course no remote start.

1st 4 button key was from a 2012....I repurposed this key (changed the guts) into a new fob & recut to the 2013
private shop tried programming & said chip was locked & had to be unlocked ?? CAN THIS BE DONE ?
both ford dealers have different opinions if they can do it....that is my dilemma.......also local locksmiths don't want to mess with it! (just in case)
Plz anyone know for sure how this can be done & by whom etc.

2nd problem is the other (china) 4 button key was successfully added to vehicle...door locks work but remote start dose not...anyone have an answer?
except bad programming or china key issues ?????

Use Forscan and ONLY genuine Ford keys. There have been multiple reports of failure using those cheap keys. Not worth the effort.

Once you have genuine Ford keys cut to your locks, you will go into pats/security/erase keys (pucker factor) erase ALL keys and program new at the same time. Done.

Thks for fast response & I value your answers.....but have you heard of a previous ford chip key programmed to a diff. trk can be unlocked & then reprogrammed to another truck....that is my issue....Thankyou!

The key itself is not being programmed, it's the truck that's being programmed to recognize the different key. Obviously the cut part is simply to engage the mechanical cylinder of the lock.
