Not Katy Ford. It's a dealer inside the Loop.

Mac Haik Chevy is the dealer I always got my Tahoe serviced at and they had no problems giving me a loaner if I called ahead.

I haven't heard many good things about Katy Ford. If that is off base and you have had good experience there let me know.

I think I am going to go to Mac Haik Ford next based on my experience at the Chevy dealer.

I never would expect it if I just showed up that's the reason I called ahead to make an appointment.

Just a heads up, the MacHaik Ford in Austin does not provide loaners. I'm not sure if that would just be an Austin thing or a MacHaik thing, but be prepared just in case.

I haven't found a dealer in Austin that will give loaners. Maybe one exists, but I haven't found one yet. I always add the ESP warranty's to my vehicles and they include a rental with any type of warranty work. I can't be without a car and want to make sure anything is covered up to that 100k when I trade it in, so I bit the bullet and pay for the ESP.

The Ford Basic 36/36k warranty does not include loaners, it is at the dealership's discretion and cost to provide one.

If you Purchased the Ford ESP, they you get a loaner for any repair that requires you to leave your vehicle overnight for a repair.

I am lucky, I have a very good relationship with my dealer and they always provide me with a loaner, even if I have to drop my car off for regular service.

Most of their loaners are older high mileage Focus, Fusion or Taurus, but it beats walking.

Q: Does my plan cover a rental vehicle?

A: Yes. All Ford ESPs cover a rental vehicle for overnight repairs of covered components. The free rental will be arranged by the servicing Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership. You can also purchase First Day Rental and receive a free rental for same day covered repairs.

I've always had a great relationship with my dealership. They offer a loaner even for same day repairs.
If I wait for the repairs, someone at the dealership is offering a loaner or a ride every time I turn around. Great service!

I thought so with the ESP. Couldn't remember and didn't want to post misinformation. My last ford dealer was good about rental cars. Just had to be a bit persistent and tell them a shuttle isn't enough.

Even with the ESP, trying to get a loaner seems like such a hassle for the dealer!
First, it HAS to be a Ford vehicle. Second, the ESP only covers $30 / day (= compact car here). Third, they only deal with Enterprise. So, if the local Enterprise locations are out of mini Fords, you're SOL.
And of course, the dealer won't offer it up front! You have to remind them, "hey I have the ESP". "Oh ok, but did you get the option for a rental for regular maintenance?. "Yes I did". "Oh ok, let me double-check... damn, you are right, I have to get you a car."

When i purchased my truck i had the dealer put in writing (did this during final negotiations on price) that they would give me a loaner any time i brought it in for service. They had no problem doing that and anytime i bring it in for service they give me a comparable truck off the pre owned lot. 2 weeks after purchasing the truck i had to bring it in for a transmissions tsb (moaning noise) the part was back ordered and they let me keep the loaner for 3 weeks. I have bought 3 trucks from them in the past 4 years though, and sent my dad and he bought another. My sales guy goes out of his way to make sure i am happy.

My salesman will hook me up with a "demo" loaner if my trucks stays the night in the service dept. He has put me in a new F150 the 2 times I needed it.
