I let let it warm up, restart, and no notifications, and the steering wheel is free, and drives with no problem. I’m just curious if this is going to go away when it warms up again. Maybe it’s a battery issue, when the truck is off I’m getting -12.51. Maybe need to get a load test? But fords service advisor is saying it is not a battery issue if the hill descent light comes on.

Been there - done it, did it.

Kiss $1800-$1900 goodbye.

The part is over $1100 - and you can't go online and shop dealers, and save 28% because there is a $400 core charge involved.

The guys with the 6.2's are lucky - they still have a boring old power steering pump, that might cost a c-note to replace.

Whats going on? I have a 2014 2WD SCREW with 56K on it.

Can anyone provide info, strictly a dealership trip? Thanks for any info.
I had a similar issue when I accidentally shorted the positive and negative terminal in the battery when installing my winch. There are fuses on the battery terminal. I blew the 125 amp and AdvanceTrack warning came on and power steering failed. I move the cable to the other terminal TEMPORARILY. Do I need to replace the whole terminal block or can I simply replace the fuse? It looks replaceable. I asked the dealer parts guys and they did not have a clue. If I can replace the fuse, does anyone know the part number?

I just got the answer to my question - the part number for the 125a fuse is F87Z-14526-BA

RockAuto carries the EPAS priced around $650. I just installed one. Works great, had to program parameter set from original to new via ForScan though.

Hey folks, my 2013 F150 FX4 just did this over the weekend. Had it towed to the dealer, they replaced a perfectly good battery and sent me on my way. Five miles down the road, warning lights go nuts and the power steering quits, almost drove right into someone trying to get it off the road. Had it towed back and today they called and said they have no idea what's going on, and have called Ford Master Service Person (is that a real thing) and are mystified but not giving up.

They won't google it or look at the hundreds of NHTSA reports about this problem so my question is - does anyone have CONTACT INFO for a Ford Tech/Service person that I can reach out to and have them call my dealer to assist? I already know this is going to cost a bundle, but it's making me crazy watching them spin their wheels when this is a known problem.

THANK YOU!!

***UPDATE*** 10 days and one new PCM later, the issue seems to be resolved. I drove it 200 miles without any issues and then traded it in because I just don't know for sure if it will happen again.

2011 F-150 SCrew XLT, 5.0L, Blue flame with 1946 Autolite Horns, 141673.5 miles
This morning 3/15/19, I went to leave for a 300 mile business trip, with the "Service AdvanceTrac" warning light On. I acknowledged the warning by pressing the OK button, but had no power assist from the electronic rack and pinion steering gear, also had to hold down or hold up the turn signal switch. Need the truck to do the same trip next week. Truck just started doing this today. Tried cycling the key with no results. Will be checking all ABS connectors tomorrow, as well as the power leads to the rack themselves and the connections at the battery. Anything else I should brace for?

Where do you program the EPAS in ForScan? How is the rack doing from rockauto? I'm looking to order one for mine.

Found out a mouse had chewed the wiring to the angle sensor. After taking apart the connector to expose the terminals, I soldered and spliced the wires, being sure to match up the terminals to the wires and preserve the function. Drives as new.
