Default Second radiator purpose

Hi everyone.
I have 09 f150 4.6w xl.
as I work on the car I have notice a small radiator in front of the main radiator.
now from looking online the second radiator is for power steering cooling system.
but as I look on pictures online none of them looks like mine. I wonder is it upgraded one or old owner put whatever he found?

That's not what I'm familiar with. Aftermarket? Or was 09 different than the rest of this gen?

NOT power steering...transmission. But why-oh-why someone would go to that trouble with the 4.6 is a bit of a mystery.

Thanks everyone for replying.
truck came from Tampa Fl.
got some rust being taking care of.
I know transmission was rebuilt less then 2,000 miles.
use to have aftermarket tow control but removed before sell.
so assuming was towing a lot.
So now to my question should I remove it and get what’s oem that fit into the bracket of the main radiator?
reason I’m asking that is nothing holding this little radiator it was zip tie 🤦🏻‍♂️

There's no reason to remove it. It's an aftermarket part, and they mount with what are basically zip ties. You can re secure it if it's loose but I wouldn't remove it. There are lots of different sizes and styles available. Here's a pic of a kit that's similar to what you have...

Much appreciated that.
wanted to make sure didn’t want just to zip tie it if it wasn’t ok.
again thanks a lot

the power steering cooler section which is integrated with my main cooler radiator started leaking externally ( no internally ), so instead of changing the main radiator , I added a small power steering cooler from a 90's van , ( about 1/4 the size of the one pictured ..
Believe it or not, the most difficult part of the project was finding one foot of 1/2" high pressure/oil resistant power steering hose, the entire area was out of stock , empty rolls everywhere at auto parts stores for 100 mile radius, no Parker hose around here, I ended up fing some red generic implement hose from a tractor dealer
it has been like that for 60,000 miles , havent got a new radiator yet
