Default 2010 FX2 SCREW "real leather"

To be or not to be (real leather that is)

My 2010 FX2 with black "leather" has only 2500 miles on it and the center portion of the seat where the black checkered "leather" and your rear end goes is already very loose and even has some ripples already in it!!

Is this a problem anyone else has? I'm a big dude 6'0 and 265 but i had my 1997 Lariat for 13 years and never had any problems with it like this one.

I have never seen real "checkered" leather before and was hoping they didn't go cheap in this area.

your thoughts??

I don't sorry. But that sucks that it's happening to you! I don't know anyone with the seats either...

the problem with our leather seats is that they have a "plastic" coating and real conditioners dont really permeate through the leather. While I dont think its "cheap" leather, its not of the highest quality. A set of semi custom Katzkins would totally r0x0r your face!

My platinum had a similar problem. The seat was loose and wavy and the dealer said a j clip in the back of the seat came loose. The fixed it under warranty

I also have concerns about the quality of the so called leather in my 2010 FX2. It's almost like Pleather. While I do prefer it over cloth I seriously dislike the quality. It's almost like the checkered part is not real leather. I may try the katskins.

The clip they fixed on mine was in the back of the seat. It tightened it up so it didn't look loose

on my tbird forum, a few guys diluted a solution with 409 and stripped the coating to condition the actual leather. The Krauts use uncoated leather in their cars.
