Default SCT X4 7015 Tuner Coming Soon!

Finally, after years of development of both the tuner itself and the shiny, fast software that powers it, the next generation of handheld tuner from SCT has finally arrived. The X4 tuner and vehicle programmer is now available for pre-order from Stage 3 Motorsports with an estimated shipping date of the first week of March. The X4 replaces both the older X-Calibrator 3 and SF3 handheld tuners, which began to show their age awhile ago.

The X4 has a massive, full-color LCD display that is much larger than the X-Cal 3s, but the X4 tuner itself is much smaller, lighter, more compact overall. TheX4 comes packed with new software that makes it faster to operate, easier to navigate, and much quicker to tune your F150 over the X-Cal 3 and SF3. The buttons and menu displays are extremely responsive without the noticeable "lag" of the outgoing SCT tuners. The X4 comes with a smaller and more ergonomic OBD-II cable and uses a Livewire-style connector to the device itself that allows you to completely remove the cable from the device for easier storage.

The X4 can hold up to 10 custom tunes, and its LCD display can rotate to either a horizontal or vertical orientation and is large enough to display up to six gauges for data logging or performance monitoring. The X4, when combined with an SCT suction mount (available sometime after the tuner is released) will make the X4 a capable performance monitor all in a package that's only slightly more expensive than the X-Cals and SF3s, but much less expensive than the current SCT Livewire. The X4 will come with an OBD-II cable, USB cable, and SCT badge.

We're taking pre-orders starting today! The X4 will ship the first week of March, according to SCT.

We will be offering our 5Star Custom tuning pre-loaded in the new X4s. Any custom tuning or package with custom tuning that we offer will be switching to the new X4 platform. Any customer who previously purchased an X-Cal 3 from Stage 3 will still receive customer and technical support and will still be a part of our Loyalty Tunes Program.

There are the gain numbers at the end of the page. Are these with the canned tunes or costum tunes?

Those are the SCT canned tune numbers. The 7015 part number is for an SCT 7015 with no custom tuning. We will have specific listings for our custom tuned tuners. For example:

Our current XCAL3 is Part number 3015
Our custom tuned ecoboost part number is - SCT-3015-5S35 (5 Star 3.5L)

We will build these as the release date gets closed.

Would anyone be interested in an XCal3 buy back program, so that they can upgrade to the X4?

Well, my anticipation of staying stock on my 2013 5.0 is just gone. 26ft lb gain on a N/A V8 is very respectable. That would put me at over 400 ft lbs right out of the box.

God dammit.

The instant throttle response and improved shifting is well worth it, love my 5 Star tunes.

This may be a silly question, but does the price on the site include tunes, or is it just the tuner?
