Default SCT tuner

I got an F150 for the first time a few months ago and was going to start doing some mods to it. I already leveled it with the rancho quick level kit in the front, and replaced the crappy pirellis with some nitto terra grapplers. My next step is going to be a tuner, but I wanted to know if they were specific to each vehicle, it would be nice to get a tune for our 2007 edge too, and i dont want to buy the wrong one. Thanks for the help in advance.

Yes custom tunes are specific to each vehicle. Contact Mike at 5 star tuning to ask about your 2007 Edge he will know.

I think i misspoke, i know the tunes are specific to each vehicle, but is the tuner itself, or are they one and the same, ie, each tuner only has tunes for a specific vehicle, minus the custom ones you can get. Maybe ill just call mike up anyway, its late and i think i even confused myself

I think his question is can he use the same tuner to tune two different vehicles, and I think the answer is no, its good for only one vehicle is what Ive heard, am I wrong?

Right. They will only tune one at a time and are Vin locked to the tuned vehicle and cannot be used on another until the one with tune is returned to stock.

That kinda sucks, greedy bastards! Is it possible to hack them or plug them into your computer and trick it into thinking the other one is back to stock? or are the people who tune cars not that computer smart? lol! You would think at least one guy who is a computer programmer would want to tune two cars without spending 600$+ a piece and would write a program to work around this problem.

Not that I've heard lol!

The only nice thing is the tuner CAN be used as a code reader on other vehicles if not VIN locked so its not completely useless outside of the vehicle its tuned on.

Why would you want to cheat? I would LMAO if you bricked a PCM because you were trying to DL a tune to a vehicle that the VIN didn't match.

There is no good reason one programmer couldnt work to program more than one vehicle other than the greedy ****ers wanna charge you another 600$ per vehicle. Im not a programmer so Im not smart enough to hack it, but i know there are people out there who are, they just dont care or it would already be done, lol!
