Thanks for all the replies. All the boxes look good, but I'm cheap so I think I'll try a "custom-built" first! I'm sure I've got enough scrap material laying around to make one of these.

I'd like to ask MattB1969 about his Tuffy box. I have a 2012 SCREW with a full Weather Tech mat in the rear. Does your Tuffy box sit on any type of rubber mat, and, if so, does the bottom of the seat clear the top of the box? I tried a DU HA and the seat hit the top edge of the bin when lowered. If you don't have a mat, how much clearance is there between seat and box? Thanks for the help.

The weathertech mat is about 1/16 th of an inch thick. It shouldn't cause you any issue with your seat not fitting down. In other news there is a way better thread than this about underseat storage boxes with people who built their own that are much better than the ones you buy and cost about 20 bucks. There are tons of different ideas and lots of pictures.

I got the one from Ford. I was annoyed it didn't go all the way across the floor but then realized having the other side open would be good for groceries or packages. Then I realized it didn't come with the dividers it was supposed to come with. Still kind of annoyed about that but didn't bother going back to get them. I'll just make them at some point.

Yes, it is the (let's say "least expensive", shall we? ), but at what cost of your time?

Being a welder, I've made custom-fit tool boxes and compartment boxes. But only because someone didn't make just what I wanted. So, while the cash outlay might be only $20.00, how much is your time worth (or: what do you have more of, time or cash?)?

Even for my retired backside, the $119.00 I spent on the Du-Ha was W-A-Y worth it! I didn't look at the Husky, but the Ford model is flimsy compared to the Du-Ha. And, it fits with the sub woofer, and looks really good.

Anyway, it's your money, your time.

You are correct, time is money. I used to be a carpenter and it took me less than 1 hour total and I was super slow about it, tracing the pattern on cardboard and cutting and checking fit about 4 times to make it perfect while having a few beers. Could've done it in 30 minutes or less if I was concerned about time. Your average novice with the right tools following directions shouldn't take longer than two hours depending on how elaborate you want to get with the design and compartments. Now that I've done it once I bet I could make another in 15 minutes. I saw pictures of the du ha and it didn't look like it fits that well, there are gaps and it looks like crap and doesn't match the factory colors very well at all. Mine looks like factory and if one didn't know better they would think it was factory. It fits perfectly tight to the seat and the carpet covering it matches factory carpet and overall it just looks 1000 times better than the du ha and cost a fraction of the price. But by all means of you are incapable of operating power tools and following simple directions and don't mind a cheap looking fit that doesn't come cheap, get the du ha.

If you can't put together ikea furniture then this mod is definitely not for you, but if you are an ikea master +1 with the ability to modify an existing design to your own needs then this mod is simple.
