I would agree with you completely! It was actually worse when we were getting it off the flat deck, the rear diff practically was pointing down to the ground!

I really appreciate everyone's comments and suggestions. In the end I am very grateful everyone was alright and appreciate the concerns!

sorry to hear that brother!
Im glad all of you are all right!! my rear end snapped an popped when I first got it till about 1000KM's and then went away, we torque up the U-joint bolts and seemed to take care of it for now
I still only have 4000KM's on mine so long way to go till its broken in hahahaha........the oil is nothing to worry about, the only liquid you have to worry about with paint is brake fluid, we blow hose's all the time on Excavators & Graders and it just shines the paint up :o)
well its about time to get Angelo/Jeff/Me and you go for a good burger some where after its fixed
what dealer did you get it from, I got mine from Dams Ford in surrey location.
which seems to have great parts and service, so Ive found

Wow, this is just amazing, glad you and your parents were ok, there is no doubt this would be a oh S--- moment. This crap just amazes me, if you just take the time to read all these threads about the F150, you would think these trucks are put together with cheap parts,careless labor and extremely unreliable. Seems there is an issue from somebody about every working part on these trucks. A 2012 and the rear driveshaft falls off. What the F. Give me a break FORD. Cant beleive this would even be acceptable from FORD. I am sure the dealer response was this is normal. If FORD doesnt step up and not only repair the problem but should at least offer a lifetime warranty on this truck. I am sorry OP that you had to go thru this but the more i read threads like this makes me want to trade in my 2013 EB for another truck.

I am not actually 100% as this was just the dealerships quick on the spot interpretation of what they thought was wrong so you may very well be correct.

Ill keep this relatively brief... I was driving my 2012 F150 XTR with 17000 km's on it in Vancouver up a long hill portion of the hwy nicknamed the cut. I was about half way up the hill when I heard a funny noise and shortly after felt vibrations...
I decided to get off at the next exit as there was no shoulder to pull over but before I could make it there I heard a loud bang, then the rear end jumped and my rear wheels locked and began to fish tail. I was travelling at around 70-75km/h as I had began to decelerate due to the vibrations.
I was able to safely come to a stop avoiding traffic as well as the concrete barriers.. VERY luckily. When I got out of the truck and walked around I saw the rear differential was on fire so I quickly got my mom and dad out of the truck and a safe distance. After several minutes the flames began to die down but my truck was a mess. Rear differential fluid was all over and the driveshaft was sitting on the ground.
My rear differential had 'blown" and as a result the pinion from the driveshaft into the rear differential was sheared off. My rear end completely seized due to the fact my differential was "blown."
I had the truck towed to my local ford dealer where the situation was completely under appreciated. I called today at 3pm to find out the truck had not been looked at and a work order had yet to be opened... I am rather frustrated at this point but hopeful Ford will take care of this properly...
Does anyone know what affect rear differential fluid has on vehicle paint and underbody? Should I just let them replace the parts and be happy about it? This was honestly the scariest thing that has happened to me. Imagine somebody pulling your ebrake as you are driving at 70-75km/h.
