Looks like a great time, I love duck/goose hunting.

Try(if you haven't already) cubing pieces into about 3/4"-1" squares, marinate in steak marinade for a day mixing it up every few hours so they uniformily marinade, then cut some bacon into squares and alternate them on a skewer...meat bacon meat bacon meat bacon. Slowly grill in indirect heat making sure not to burn. Tastes just like steak, my buddies girlfriends/wives even eat it. Soooo good

I'm not big into big game hunting, everyone looks at me like im crazy! Sounds like yall have it going on though. I'm big into fishing, mostly specks, reds, flounder and occasionally deep water ( snapper, ling, tuna, and so on). Never been ice fishing, but looks like it would be a great whiskey drinking sport! I'm going to have to try that recipe soon... My favorite is marinate duck and or goose breast cubed and brown it with deer sausage and simmer for 3 -4 hours along with rotating cold ones in the left hand and stirring the pot with my right.

That right there is my idea of a perfect day!! This season up here was a disaster! Too dry, so it was a constant guessing game. Thanks for the pics, I have been in mourning since 12/21 when our season ended.

It was a beautiful weekend. Lows in low 40s and highs mid 60s. Unfortunately with all that ridiculous rainfall the past few weeks, Everything down there is flooded... Making the Scaup and Spoon population in Gueydan absolutely ridiculous... Even though they aren't pretty, we still had a great time!

Nice Shoot! Still pretty bitter about the duck season up here in Michigan. The first week was pretty good back in the beginning of October, dried up for a few weeks after that and started to pick up a little bit right before Thanksgiving as it got colder out and a few small batches of migrating mallards worked their way down. The week after Thanksgiving the season came to an end with no major migration to speak of. From what I saw, they all migrated through here between Christmas and New Years. Michigan really needs a split season or push the South hunting zone back a few weeks. We keep missing the migration year after year, very disappointing. /rant.

It's nice to see your truck getting a workout as well!

How did you know I was with him? Small world. We became buddies in college and realized we had identical trucks, except mine was step side and 1" taller haha, he hated that! He has been working in Laredo the past few months. Great guy though
