Default A Sad Weekend For South Louisiana... Hunting Pic Heavy

I just wanted to share some cool pictures I have from this past weekend in Gueydan, LA. It was the last weekend of duck season and it was a pretty good one at that, especially when you have some bad *** friends to spend it with. Unfortunately the levee road was flooded up to the duck blind, which meant I got to play a little!

PS: Thats me in the Under Armour Camo hat.

Saturday night I had a 14oz Ribeye with asparagus and last night I had grilled Redfish, duck breast wrapped with bacon, cream cheese and jalapeno, and a sweet potato. Oh yea

That'd be good cooked in a smoker. I made two 7 pound Boston butts yesterday that didn't finish until 11pm. I can't wait to have some for lunch today.

Man I'm jealous. Hunted last two mid seasons at Lake Catahoula and that is prime duck hunting.

Nice blind, nice trucks, and looks like you're hitting them. Ha

Dang that sounds good. I'm planning on cooking a speckled belly tonight. Not sure how im going to do that yet. Thinking of cutting the goose breast and cube them and make a gravy with some teal i have from a few weeks ago. Ahhh yes.

I've already gone through the 5 stages of loss and grief, our season closed back in early December haha. But...ice fishing now...2.5 months and the snow geese will be around...then turkeys in MN and WI...then food plots...then its girls in bikinis for a Summer lull and back to geese come September(talk of it opening in August this year).

Looks like a great time, I love duck/goose hunting.

Try(if you haven't already) cubing pieces into about 3/4"-1" squares, marinate in steak marinade for a day mixing it up every few hours so they uniformily marinade, then cut some bacon into squares and alternate them on a skewer...meat bacon meat bacon meat bacon. Slowly grill in indirect heat making sure not to burn. Tastes just like steak, my buddies girlfriends/wives even eat it. Soooo good
