Further research and it looks like about $1800 for new 17" winter tires and rims which won't necessarily transfer to a new truck. So, considering FX4 or Lariat as an upgrade to the world of 4x4. I can get a good deal on a 2011 Lariat with trade in but don't want to make a mis-purhase again. With finance rates at 0-3% seems like a sensible option.
Any strong opinions out there on which is best for my situation. 300 yard uphill access road which is ploughed to the width of the truck (hedge rows on both sides). Last Jan we had 2 ft of snow each drop whith large drifts. I had to dig the plough truck out when his transmission failed in the middle of ploughing.
If the beast Raptor would allow me to simply stick it in gear and go I could easily be persuaded for one of those too as my milage is low 10k a year.
Perhaps I should put a voting poll out there.
