Default bumper rust

i have a Ford 2011 xtr 4x4 F150 with 8000k on it and the rust on the front bumper in unreal.I took to the dealership and the tech says ford calls it atomosphric fallout. I find this totally unexceptable and I do not think anyone of us should let Ford get away without suppling new bumpers.I will be back at the dealer next week to see what they are going to do about it.

I had the same problem. They replaced the rear bumper. But was really bad! It took a lot of calling. I felt something should have been done for a lot less of an effort. So far the new bumper is good.

Clay bars are used for this very problem. I'm not sure of the bumper rust, but if you have specs of rust on your painted body panels, this is really little specs of metal that has rusted. This is due to usually being buy trains or by factories. White is bad because it shows up the worst. Try clay baring and you won't believe the difference. I usually do my cars once a year. But the bumper problem I'm not sure of.

Default rust

Picked up my new lariat super crew, eco Friday the 18th of march (3 days ago). Before I left the dealership noticed rust on rear bumper. They said that they would put on new bumper. Got curious today and crawled underneath. Every thing metal under truck is covered with rust. Rear axle housing looks worse than my sons 1989 chevy truck. What can be done.

2011 XLT 4x4 with 8000 miles bumper rust
Noticed small rust spots on front chrome bumper and tow hooks this morning. Went to dealer and was told Ford considers this a routine mtce issue. ie. Polish your chrome every time you wash the truck. Have been washing the truck at least twice a week at a touchless wash to keep the salt off. Tech came outside and polished the rust off with Ford chrome polish. He said that Ford (Canada) used to consider this a warranty issue, but has recently gone to this "routine mtce" bs. Bought a bottle of the polish but worry about the future. Anyone else in Canada dealt with this?

Default Update to rust issue

Left the truck with the dealer today. The truck had the rail dust rust on the front, rear bumper and grill. It is probably on the paint as well but because it is black I can't see it.
The dealer will use the "wash" on the truck then buff and seal. If the rust appears again I will bring it back for more attention.
The dealer is very co-operative so far. I have been away for a while thus the delay in dealing with the issue.
I will update when I get the truck back, likely in a day or two.

Everyone should claybar their truck as soon as you pick it up. There is industrial fallout on every vehicle.

My EcoBoost was born in Dearborn, sold in Dearborn and resides in Dearborn. No rail rust here.

Ongoing problem for the life of aol our vehicles. Metallic brake dust, snow plow blade grindings, and other stuff flies up off the road in the rain spray sticking to your vehicle, then rusting. Got a rusty plastic Honda bumper in the driveway right now. A good polish or a special solvent fixes it up.
Chrome bumpers with any imperfections, thin spots, rock marks, rust quicker than ever with the lower chrome quality and vicious road de-icers that are used these days. Eats the chrome finish right off my plastic trim, and stains my stainless steel parts.
