I sanded it down and went over it with touch up paint, A year later it came back. i sanded it down put on touch up paint and clear coated over it. i noticed it's back this year. so i want to fix it this time without it coming back. what am i doing wrong and what do i have to do this time. thanks in advance.

It sounds like you did not prime it. I would sand down, then apply rust extender. It neutralizes rust. Then touch up paint over it.

Default rust spot on roof.

Rust creeps under paint. If you see a spot of rust, chances are it's under the paint already in the surrounding area. It's one of the main reasons for etch primer. When we sand through to metal on anything, we etch it. Sealer is enough, but the etch primer will stop the rust creep under the paint. Touching up rusty chips, just slows it down

I'm getting water spots in my headliner. Ford said its a problem with the third brake light. They know about it but won't replace it. Any suggestions? Other than dropping $$ on a new housing.

I've read of people using silicone or a thicker gasket?
