My 2013 FX2 in Arizona with 7000 miles on it and the coldest it has seen is about 30 degrees F looks exactly the same. No snow, very little rain.

As said above, its just surface rust only...cosmetic. If you're that worried about it, prep it and paint it. Remember, its a truck...they don't need to look pretty...underneath. ;o)
