Rust Bubbles full of water underneath paint

The longer you wait, the worst it'll get. If you can get it done now, I would. That estimate varies widely by region and shop so take it for what it is.

After reading this I went out tonight and sprayed out my rockers. I was surprised to see so much crap came out of there.. Especially towards the front by the running board mount. The picture only partially shows how much, as some already headed for the drain.
Other than the rockers I've been spraying out the hard to reach area on the box, in front of the rear tire. Is there any other hard to reach spots that I can spray out which might have build up? Is there a way to get the cab corner?

do you take the adhesive tape off to allow for better flow/clean out?

A few other places is the skid plates for transfer case and gas tank, along with all the cross members. I bet Ive removed close to 100lbs out of mine...lol This is the frame water rinse pile.

I plan on cleaning them out but there are two soft spots on the passenger side about the size of a half dollar each. The rest is all solid. I haven't found any soft spots on the drivers side yet. I still plan on having it looked at as I had planned on keeping the truck at least a few more years until it was paid off. Sad that's it's come to this as I've only had the truck for just over a year. The previous owner must have never cleaned the rockers out. Hopefully if I can get it repaired now it will hold up better for a few more years. I'm just not sure how to go about it. Would it be a full rocker replacement? Or would a typical body shop just address the two small soft areas?

The bad part is there is no way of telling till you or someone gets into it, just recently I got roped to doing a set of rockers on a 04 Gmc. It started out just outters, then peeked in at the inners which led to cab corners. These was in horrible shape nothing like yours. There is many options, a good shop would be able to just remove the bad stuff to solid metal, its amazing how rust spreads in the panels. A guy I know has the same thing you got and the dealer told him patch panels wasnt available yet (Very hard to imagine) and had to hand make the patches and quoted 1000.00 a side and he has pin holes. Id suggest get some prices and go from there. Be sure to ask how the repair will be made and if they will use some rust killer to help slow the rust down.

Use some type of rust killer, like what eastwood sells, I wouldnt undercoat due to it will seal the moisture in the metal and really speed things up.
