Default Rust!! Already?!

I was washing my truck today with this amazing weather in PA and noticed all these rust spots on my front bumper. Is this something I could get the warranty to cover? You can feel these spots so its not just a surface type spot. 2012 with about 26,000 miles on it. OR your thoughts on how to fix this myself.

how many miles and what year is your truck?, I know ford paint warranty is bull because they said they'll only cover rust if its literally a hole into the sheet metal or panel that its happening on.

I say to your dealer and see of they will warranty it. If not go to another. Just ask them though don't let them right anything up because if it's in the system as you being denied once no other dealer can do anything.

They're from rock chips. One of the joys of having a painted bumper vs chrome and not having it protected with paint protection film.

Had them on mine when I got it, bought it used. I hit the bumper with Iron-X to remove the rust and neutralize it, then used some Duplicolor Touch Up Primer Pen for some of the bigger chips, and then used Dr. Color Chip. You can use the Dupicolor touch up paint pens too in place of Dr. Color Chip. The dealer sells touch up paint too. I'll repeat this process every year until I either have too many chips or am sick of fixing it, and will then have the bumper repainted and then get it protected with PPF.

What Chris said. Def rock chips that are allowing water and lovely road salt to do its business.

I had an 08 FX4 with painted bumpers and mine actually had blisters. They were prevalent around the fog light openings. Supposedly there is a bracket welded there which compromises rust resistance. This is why I have chrome bumpers now on my 11 Lariat- there is not a spot of rust on them
