Default running board leds stopped working

so i hooked up some running board lights on my truck on the right side door panel to the purple wire which the instructions said to do. well they worked for about a week and now that purple wire lost power and im not sure what its for and cant figure out which fuse to check.

Not trying to be a smart ***, but your manual has fuse info in if....is anything else not working properly?

yea i looked. thats the thing i thought that wire was for the lights when the doors open or when you unlock with the keyless but they still work

Did you use a quick splice? I've used some before that didn't make a solid connection and worked intermittently.

yes, looks like your locking splice might have slipped, remove them and either solder the wires or use Posi Tap connectors. A bit pricey, but well worth the money.

the wire lost power but the fuse is still good so i dont know whats going on

I installed aftermarket lighted running boards on my 2001 F150 and had nearly every wire break internally (insulation was intact) after a couple of years on the wiring harness. Ended up rebuilding the harness('s) with quality 12v wire('s).

A multi-meter (or test light) will assist you with determining where you are loosing the power at, start at the line tap, then fuse, wiring to lights, etc. Good luck
