I know its a lot of money, but if you really brake it down I think you will find it will be cheaper in the long run to buy a Raptor, than to trick out a F-150. I realize not everybody wants a Raptor, but it seems like you have a genuine need for this level of performance. Not trying to start a war here, just curious as to why you went the route you did.

Regarding RPG, Ill be joining the club come Monday. Stage III rear, tie rods and 1.5" race line UCA's, cant wait.
Hey Turf, all very legit questions. First, congrats on the Stage 3 and other goodies!!! You will love it man, the truck will feel like new.

As for why I didn't buy a Raptor. Great question. My main goal with the truck was not to go ***** out across the desert or hitting 3 foot whoop sections. I live in the PNW. Up here, the winters can be brutal, and I also do a lot of Search and Rescue work. My needs were more with being able to go remote into areas a regular truck might not want to go. I wanted to use the rig to not only do SAR work, but camping and fishing remote areas. With all this, I carry A LOT of gear in the truck. Bed space was a HUGE consideration. There's just no way to get a 6.5ft bed on a Raptor and believe it or not, that one foot makes an insane difference when you see it in person.

Next major consideration was towing capability. With my good fortune, I couldn't shoot out the right chromosome and ended up with not one, but TWO girls. With two girls and a wife, there is only so much primitive camping they are willing to do. Given that pickle, I knew an RV wasn't going to be far into our future. I wanted to tow a beast and the Raptor simply wasn't built to do that. With my EcoBoost I can tow 11,300lbs stock, and after the mods I've done with the RPG stuff, I'm sure the limits have increased a good bit (but have no way to absolutely scientifically quantify that into real numbers). Lets just say that if I stay within the stock limits, I am going to feel REAL comfortable knowing I'm not going to break anything.

So that's really it man. I REALLY wanted the Raptor, but the practicality for how I will use the truck daily won over the bad *** looks and performance out of the box from the Raptor. I'm not trying to turn my F-150 into a Raptor, that's totally NOT the intent, I just wanted the additional capabilities that having high performance after-market parts brings to the table. So far it's working man. The ride quality is literally night and day from the stock FX4 suspension. You simply have to take a ride in it to believe it. If any of you are out in the Seattle area and ever want a ride, I'm happy to demo the truck for you.

OK so I've been looking at RPG's website and they don't have anything up for the F-150 UCA or front coil overs. On that note were they planning on doing a stage 3 kit with the front suspension parts included so one could order everything at once? Oh and bisonium, what fedender flares are you running there?

Stage I through III are for the rear of the truck, front components are separate. Anything related to the rear suspension on there site is not Raptor specific and will bolt right up to a standard F-150. Up front all they offer for the standard F-150 at the moment is UCA's and in the near future tie rods. The website is really set up fro Raptor owners.

Haven't posted pics of my goodies yet, so what the hell.

I'm running the stock 35's and will be going 37's once they wear out.

I think the standard F-150's will clear 33's without rubbing.

So this is *almost* correct. Most of the rear suspension components are indeed able to bolt right on to the F150. The only one that might be a bit overkill is the Fox 3.0 shox...you need to be real careful on those because the shock mounts on the F150 aren't as beefy as the Raptor so you could in theory rip a shock off that mount.

For the front, we have the UCA's and will soon have tie rods as mentioned above. Although we don't have them on the site yet, you CAN order the Fox OEM 2.5 coilovers that come on the Camburg kit through us as well.

I'm responsible for the site so there will be a lot of changes coming soon where you will be able to differentiate between the F150 and Raptor stuff a little easier. We are just ramping up for the F150 and won't be launching full-bore into the F150 until 2013.

I'm running Toyo Open Country M/T's: LT275/70R18 125P E/10 (33X11.00R18)

Very minimal trimming required, but it did need some. My wheels are 4.5" backspace.

Be advised, these SOB's are HEAVY. My mpg's took a major hit on my EcoBoost. I also have 4.10 gears. I'm averaging in the 13-14mpg range most days. I've had it as high as 21mpg on flat highways in NV where the fuel was much better. The gas in the PNW SUCKS BUTT.

Clearing a tire on the street is easy, but if your going to romp threw the dez I would be careful with your tire selection.

alright I'm going to ask one more stupid question. aside from the "don't exceed manufacturer specifications blah blah blah" what would the effect of adding the Heavy duty springs to a Raptor do for its towing ability. My hang up on the Raptor is just that, I want to tow my Jeep with a truck (see avatar for Jeep) and maybe a small boat eventually.
