Do you have to remove the foam sound deadening from around the intake manifold to install the Mustang cover?

I just installed my coil covers. To install the 5.0L cover you need to trim part of the foam insulator and install 4 "engine cover insulators" Ford part# BR3Z-9P686-A.

Kingding, did you have to trim a crap-load of your cover on the driver's side or did you do some re-routing of the hoses that run into the air intake tube? I can't seem to get mine to fit; looks like I'm gonna have to hacka ton of the plastic off or buy an aftermarket CAI to get the cover on there.

So coil covers are direct fit right? No trimming? How are they attached?

Metric M6x20 allen head bolts. Pick up 6 from a machine shop, then just thread them into the plastic covers. I also greased up the bolt heads to help them "snap" into place.

I did have to trim my cover alot. I took it off and on many times.

To mount the coil covers, I took bolts and ground them down to the correct size.

Nice pic of the flames on the front of my truck.

Still can't figure why the 5.0 in the mustang looks so good, while the 5.0 in F150s look like a second grader wired and routed the hoses. The intake looks horrible with the foam insulators visible and hoses running across the top of the engine. Very disappointing for $40k + vehicles. Com'on Ford!

Absolutely no trimming required on the coil covers whatsoever; they are a 100% direct fit. And, ya, you can grind down some bolts but 6 M6x20 metric allen head bolts only cost $0.60 and are an exact fit.

6 per side? Or 6 all together? And is eBay the best place to find them cheap?
