man that RC winch looks suspiciously familiar...I would bet they are made by the same Chinese company

The solenoid box even looks the same

Do you think that setup will block air flow to the radiator? Has anyone with this setup driven on a 100 degree day yet?

I Have a license Plate covering my opening and have no problems. These trucks have huge gapping grills. Shouldn't be an issue unless you have an ECO. Excellent write up and mod.

It does not block airflow, it sits mostly below the radiator, except as what Raven2210 said, if you have an ECO. No air-flow blocking issues whatsoever.

As far as the Chinese made winch, I don't doubt they are the same, but I think you can install other brand winches onto the plate sold by RC; but beware, some brands claim to be made in the USA but are merely assembled in the USA using Chinese parts.

I just ordered a RC 1010 mount from a local shop, should have it in a few days I've had a Warn M8000 (steel rope) for 2-1/2 years, so I'm excited to FINALLY have it permanently installed on my truck! On my '08, I installed a front hitch receiver and put the winch on a receiver plate, and while that worked, it was cumbersome to haul the winch around, so it was only with the truck when I knew I was definitely going to use it.

Question for those who have installed this mount and a winch: there's been reference to the added weight pushing the nose of the truck down. How much does the nose sink? Since I've got a 2wd, the truck is already somewhat low, and then there's the extra front air dam nullname mentions, which already hangs VERY low IMO, so I'm a little concerned that my front is going to be lower than I want. I'm not interested in doing a full-on 2" or 2.5" level kit, but may have to add 1" spacers up front? I dunno, we'll see.

Oh, one more: any noticeable decrease in gas mileage after installing the winch?

Thanks!

Yes, I noticed the front slightly sink but shortly after installation I installed Bilsteins all around (no lift) and in the front had the shop do 1.5" or 2" (I don't recall exactly) but there was some sag.

Thanks null. I believe yours is a 4x4, correct?

When I go to do the installation (once I have the mount and the weather warms up a bit), I'll take before and after measurements, then decide if I need to install any front spacers.

Notice any change in fuel consumption after the winch? Course, if you quickly leveled the front, I suppose that might factor in as well.

It's nice how the whole winch is hidden.
I would seriously consider this.
Looks great.

I measured ride hight before and after and no change on my FX4.
