Default Rough Country Hidden Winch Mount w/Engo EPF10000S Winch on 2012 F-150 5.0

After a lot of research and reading about this winch shootout here, I decided to go with the Engo EPF1000S winch mounted to the RC hidden winch mount plate. At first I had it in my head to go with a Warn, but after reading about a lot of Warns that crapped out on guys and very few bad things about the Engo winches, I decided to go ahead and give them a shot. I should have both the winch and mount hopefully sometime early next week...can't wait.

A decent review of the Engo winches.

Rough Country mount came in. Very pleased with the design and build quality. Unfortunately the EPF10000s's are back ordered and won't ship until May 9th

I still have this plate sitting in my garage waiting for Mother Nature to stop pitching a fit so I can install it. I look forward to your take on that winch too- I'm on the fence as to what I want. I was looking at Warn initially but likely got spooked by the same reviews you did.

Finally got the winch installed. All in all it went fairly well. Only required minor modification. As seen in the pics below, the hood unlatch lever and mount was in the way so I had to take it off then remove a small part of the mount and plastic on the back side of the latch which allowed the solenoid box to mount on top of the winch like it's supposed to.

Hood mount and latch in the way

Had to remove a plastic mount on one of the transmission cooler lines to free up space for the cables

Yeah I wish I would have gotten wireless....just couldn't justify the $$$$ for the warn, although i'm sure it's worth it
